Privilege car insurance is part of Royal Bank of Scotland Insurance Services and all of its policies are underwritten by Direct Line Insurance. They launched in 1994 serving a niche market but have now expanded their core targer population to include London, drivers over 50 and the executive market. Privilege specifically targets its products at the driver with 4 years minimum no claims discount. They also provide breakdown cover and home insurance for which there is an introductory discount* if you have a Privilege car insurance policy.

Provided you have 4 years claim free they will attempt to offer competitive car insurance quotations subject to eligibility criteria and Privilege terms and conditions. Your no claim discount can be protected once you have reached the 4 year mark as an optional extra.

Privilege provides third party, third party fire and theft and comprehensive car insurance. Benefits of their comprehensive cover include free accident recovery 24 hours a day, business company car no claim discount is recognised, premium payment can be made by easy monthly instalments* and repairs that are fully guaranteed (and free valeting) when you use approved repairers.

For travel abroad, up to 3 days cover whll be extended free of charge but for longer periods a charge will be made for the extra cover. Business cover for the insured and their spouce* is included if agreed at the time of taking out the policy.

Other optional benefits include a guaranteed hire car up to 14 days* if you use recommended repairers shilst your car is unusable due to a claim and motor legal protection which provides up to £50000 cover towards legal costs and expenses incurred whilst trying to recover out of pocket expenses not covered under your policy.
