Speed Cameras And Flash Guard Insurance
A new solution to counter driving bans!
If you have been caught
recently by a speed camera while driving it
is likely you will have points added to your driving licence. Unfortunately,
it does not matter who you are, a split second lapse in concentration
means anybody who takes to the road has the capability of speeding.
Some people drive fast deliberately, others may just have taken their
eye of the speed limit or may not be aware of a speed restriction.
However, the law is the law and if you are caught in a camera you should
expect
a fine and
points on your licence.
There are an estimated 4,500 speed cameras in the UK which has
resulted in a sharp increase in the number of people being caught
speeding. Drivers generally get three points on their licence for a
speeding offence and can expect to be disqualified if they accumulate 12
points. If you are convicted of speeding through having been caught in a
camera and points are added to your licence then you are obliged to
inform your insurance company. You should expect your
insurance premium to rise as a result. However, if you are convicted
a fourth time you should expect to lose your licence. Those who are
disqualified from driving are effectively immobilised.
A new solution which provides transport in the event of you losing
your driving licence has
recently come to the market. The policy costs £50 a year and
pays drivers up to £6,000 towards alternative transport arrangements
if they lose their licence. It is ideal for those reliant
on transport to get
to work or need to carry out the simple day-to-day things like shopping
and running the kids to school without running up huge taxi bills or
waiting for buses.
The policy will under no circumstance be made available to drivers
convicted of driving recklessly or while driving while under the influence
of alcohol or drugs. It will be made available to those drivers who
may have points on their licence and make a simple mistake which takes
them to the 12 point limit, thus disqualifying them from driving.
